Join the Durham and Halton-Peel Chapters along with Heather Daly, Resident Family Coordinator and Kristina Lafrate, Restorative Therapist from Alexander Place, Long Term Care Home (Waterdown) to educate ourselves how professional organizers can support seniors live comfortably in their home.

Highlights of the presentation will include perspectives on home safety, preventing and minimizing falls along with home solutions, signs of elder abuse, seniors’ rights, and decluttering tips for aged individuals. Learn what not to do when working with senior clients and how organizers can assist simplify their home to make day to day activities seamless.

About Kristina Lafrate and Heather Daly:

Kristina Lafrate is a Graduate of Mohawk and Canadore College, focusing on Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. Since 2014, Kristina began working specifically with seniors which expanded her insight to dementia care, wellness through activities and maintaining optimum physical health.

Working in long term care for nearly twenty years, Heather Daly has held a variety of positions such Personal Support Worker, Recreational Therapist and contributing team member, opening a long-term care home in 2002. In her current role, Heather is a liaison between families navigating the health care system, supporting residential changes and works closely with LHIN including other health care sectors to ensure smooth transitions.

Following the main event, chapter-specific social networking sessions will be held.
