Injuries from falls, poisoning, and other household accidents are one of the leading causes of emergency department and urgent care visits across Alberta. Children, adults and seniors are particularly vulnerable to injuries when exposed to hazards within the home environment, such as clutter, household chemicals and slippery surfaces.

During the September 19th meeting Deanna Marler, Health Promotion Facilitator with AHS, will discuss important strategies you can use with your clients to improve safety in the home. Some discussion topics will include: Proper storage of chemicals and other hazards, measures to reduce household falls, and criteria for creating safe spaces for children.
