Karen has been working with seniors most of her life… and now she is one! In 2001, Karen created SmartMove to help older adults downsize, organize, move and clear estates. In 2009, Karen and Gail Shields merged their individual companies and created Downsizing Diva – the first Canadian Senior Move Management Company to become a franchise operation.
Karen is a Senior Move Management pioneer and Certified Professional Consultant on Aging. She is an active member of POC and NASMM – National Association of Senior & Specialty Move Managers. Downsizing Diva became a NASMM A+ Accredited company and in 2018, Karen and Gail were awarded NASMM’s prestigious Margit Novack Award for excellence in Senior Move Management. Karen is a co-author of “GO! The Essential Guide to Organizing and Moving,” and an international public speaker on senior move management.
Course Format
This course is delivered online and includes a video and manual. The video is approximately one hour, which you can pause, rewind and re-watch to fully immerse yourself in the materials. The video includes 3 code words which must be submitted through the course page. Upon successful submission of your code words, your record of learning will reflect successful completion of the course. The comprehensive manual includes activities, additional materials and resources.
