Business Insurance
There are many different options for insurance for your business, depending on your areas of service and specialties. Please note POC is not an insurance broker or expert, and any insurance information provided is for reference or consideration only.
We are pleased to be working with Zensurance for insurance options geared to professional organizing.
Getting an insurance quote from Zensurance for your business is quick and easy. Simply follow these steps:
For all provinces excluding Quebec
- Visit Zensurance and click ‘Get A Free Quote’
- Complete the brief online questionnaire. If you are only a Professional Organizer and offer no other service, you should be able to review and pay for your policy instantly. You can select from professional liability, general liability as well as other coverage options.
- A licensed Zensurance broker will review your application and call/email you in case there are any clarifications needed. Otherwise you should receive your policy documents within 2 business days.
- If you need more information or prefer to speak with a licensed broker directly, the Zensurance team will always be ready to help guide you through the process. You can call 1-888-654-6030 during business hours if you want to be connected to a licensing broker.
For Quebec
Send an email to Mariano Neiman at mariano.neiman@zensurance.com and indicate you are a member of Professional Organizers in Canada.
Why Get Insurance?
Many members question why they need insurance and the benefits it provides. Our FAQ document answers many of those questions for you.
Promoting Your Business
Individuals seeking a professional organizer will be able to locate you through our online directory. Be sure to keep your information up-to-date editing your information on your Member Profile page.
Membership in POC gives you authorized use of the POC logo on your letterhead, business cards, website and promotional literature. The logo and guidelines for its use are available in the Downloads section, where you’ll also find a brochure explaining what a professional organizer is, and the advantages of hiring one. Simply print it, affix your contact information, and give it to your prospects.
POC also has a closed Facebook page for members-only that is used as a discussion forum and for the association to share important information including conference details. Networking also occurs through a variety of community and special interest groups and events which can be found on the website calendar, and at the Annual In-Person Conference or Virtual Summit – come join your colleagues for fun, professional development and camaraderie.
POC Talk
POC Talk is our monthly electronic communication to keep members informed of volunteer opportunities, special events, and news concerning the association.
Education and Training
POC offers a number of teleclasses on various aspects of organizing and of running an organizing business. Classes are open to both members and non-members, but members pay a much lower class fee. Classes may be taken on an occasional basis, or for those organizers interested in becoming a POC Trained Professional Organizer, you may complete our POC Training Program. After completing the required courses you may apply to write the exam and, if successful, obtain a certificate indicating you are a POC Trained Professional Organizer.
Professional Organizers interested in working with the chronically disorganized may also wish to join the Institute for Challenging Disorganization and work toward their specialized certification.
To continue your professional development, be sure to check out the Education area for information about current and upcoming learning opportunities. Remember that Members are eligible for discounts on all POC-sponsored events.
